We use the following medications:   

Doxycycline: An antibiotic that  prevents malaria. It is taken daily, starting one to two days before travel and continuing for four weeks after returning. 

Chloroquine: An anti-malaria medication which is started 1 week before entering endemic area and continued for 4 weeks after leaving the area. 

Mefloquine: An anti-malria medication which is started 2-3 weeks before entering the endemic area and continued for 4 weeks after leaving. 

Please note that as of 2023 Proguanil has been discontinued in the UK. This means that Malarone is no longer available.
